Jason Crete (Nelson)

A crack engineer with a mysterious past, Jason is out to explore the 'verse. After rapidly rising to the rank of Commodore (a rank well above what he should have obtained during his service time), he suddenly retired and headed out to tour the 'verse in his home-built ship, the Mantis. Between his retirement and some lucky investments, Jason stumbled his way into money, and doesn't always know what to do with it—he's equally likely to build an orphanage and a fusion powered, faster-than-light toaster. He has developed a taste for fine food, and always enjoys a good wine or cognac. Despite his taste for food and drink, he's still incredibly thin, and at 6' 2" he's been called a "beanpole" more than once. He can often be seen strolling around starports looking for work in his easily-recognized white doctor's coat.
